Mission
The ACHP Foundation supports the work of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) to preserve and protect the Nation’s cultural heritage by providing expertise, advocacy, and support.
Our Goals
Tribal College Initiative
In an effort to develop more preservation capacity in Indian Country, the ACHP Foundation and the ACHP are developing a model initiative to introduce Native youth to historic preservation as a potential career path.
ACHP Internships
The ACHP maintains an ongoing intern program for undergraduate or graduate students as well as individuals at an early stage of their career and professional development. Also, The ACHP Foundation provides a stipend to help offset expenses.
Preservation in Practice
The ACHP offers interaction with professionals who can serve as mentors and provide them with a path to rewarding jobs, bringing together business, history, and heritage with career opportunities both in federal, state, and local government and beyond.
Foundation Internships
Candidates generally meet the same criteria as ACHP interns and can work flexible schedules in virtual or hybrid positions. We work closely with the leaders of other national preservation organizations to provide an effective voice for preservation.
